Web site design plays a major role in our product mix today, because it is increasingly important for businesses to maintain unique, entertaining and informative web sites in order to compete effectively. (Plus, from where I sit, building web sites is just plain fun. Challenging, sure, but incredibly entertaining and rewarding.) Consequently, the demand for media-rich web sites has grown significantly. And since we've been delivering crystal-clear audio, Flash animations and video via the internet for almost ten years, we're thrilled!
What sets us apart as a web site design company is the fact that we produce our own audio programming in-house, and design almost all of the Flash animations that make our client's web sites stand out in the clutter. Throw in additional enhancements, like a variety of image galleries, audio players and more, and our designs simply aren't like any other company's designs.
In the past few years, we've had the good fortune to design some web sites for golf courses, golf course designers and for businesses otherwise involved in the golf industry. As a result of this involvement in the golf industry, we've added golf course photography to our menu of services. And though we don't produce video programming, we are experts at delivering your video flawlessly.
But beneath the images, sounds and animations, it's crucial that a web site meet a wide range of industry standards in order to function in the Wild West environment of today's Internet. A site must also be compatible with a dizzying array of Operating System/Browser combinations. At Laurelwood Productions, we test our sites against almost 50 OS/Browser combinations to ensure that your site visitors have a consistently excellent experience.
As larger format, higer resolution LCD monitors gain more market share the industry-standard, 775 X 575 pixel, fixed-width web page is shrinking in popularity. A realistic solution to this problem is to design an expanding page with a defined maximum width so we don't completely lose control of the page's layout. This web site, designed for golf course architect, Scott W. Pool, was designed using this technique. Check the photo credits throughout the web site. Many of the images are one's I took.

A dignified and information-rich site, the King and King Attorneys web site is one I'm especially pleased with. The way I look at it, if you can please a lawyer, you can please anybody!

My background is very strong in audio recording and production, and the folks at Atlanta Pro Audio have been good friends for a very long time. In fact, Chick Cusick, the owner, is also one of my best golfing buddies. Consequently, the pressure was on to produce a quality site for the Southeast's leading dealer of pro audio equipment. This site is very audio-heavy, with voiceovers by George Lowe (aka The Cartoon Network's Space Ghost) on practically every page. If you have a little time… even if pro audio isn't your thing… it would be worth a visit to this site simply to hear George do what George does best. The man is a genius. A bucket full of crazy, no doubt. But a genius, nonetheless.

The beauty in this very simple, yet elegant, design is in the images themselves. Sharon Meyer's design work speaks for itself, so all I needed to do was create a framework, including 3 separate image galleries to display her work.

In addition to building this new website for Asereth Medical Services, a California-based pharmacy staffing service I've continued working with them to develop a successful Google Adwords campaign to draw more attention to the new web site. And while I don't consider myself to be an SEO expert, we've had increasing success over time. One thing I like about this site is that they allowed me to place great music on practically every page. It's a very mellow, soothing site. Check it out.

This web site may seem eerily familiar, since it's animated header logo is featured on the Flash Animations page. But frankly, I just love this wacky site. Michele Torres, the creator of OnHoldVet.net, is incredibly creative. Also a touch goofy. Michele produced the audio for this web site. All we did was design some suitably wacky images and insert a video player on the home page so visitors could enjoy the site of a dog smoking a cigarette!

The MidSouth Golf Sales web site was one of our first to make use of Flash video implementation. My attitude about presenting video on a website parallels my thinking on audio… the player should be an integrated part of the page, and no 3rd-party players (Windows Media Player, Quicktime, etc.) should open and obscure the page. If you visit the MidSouth site, you'll see that the 40 minute program on the page pictured here streams perfectly. Video on web pages has arrived… bigtime!
